So, we purchased a new computer desk,
and since I'm the handyman around the house
(I know, I'm a woman, but I'm not PC.)
I'm building it.
The desk is two-tone, which I think is hideous.
What do you think about two-toned furniture?
I should have taken a photo.
Oh well, because I called my Dad and asked him
what kind of paint I could use to paint it,
and he recommended Rust-o-leum's "Ultimate" paint.
It's almost $8 a can, but it's worth it.
Now, I didn't wear a mask at first...
so I spat out the paint that I breathed in for a few hours.
Then, I was undercoating, overcoating, you name it,
I just wasn't even. But it's okay,
because soon all of the pieces will be all black,
and I will be putting my beautiful new black desk together :)
I go back to work on Monday.
Excitement is not something I'm feeling about it.
Tonight, however, I have a friend of ours over,
and I'm going to highlight his hair while we watch
"GI Joe: Rise of the Cobra."

Oh, t-hat's Jake saying "Hi."
He was dancing on the keyboard :)
He's so cute.
Ciao!

Has it really been nearly a month since I've posted?
My wrist has healed, my foot has not.
My hubby says I should get a hard cast,
so that I don't have a choice but to comply.
Waah.
I went to Target today and added some color to my house -
a nice smoky blue for the living room via curtains and throw pillows,
and a bright green for the kitchen via a rug and hand towels.
I'll be taking pictures in a couple of weeks to upload!
We got a kitten! His name is Jake, and he's just the cutest.
He's about 6 or 7 weeks now, just a regular old housecat.
We got him from the SPCA here, and he's incredible.
He's the curious and adventurous kitty I've always wanted!
Also, he doesn't pee on the carpet anymore.
He did at first, but he's gotten used to the litter box.
I'm feeding him a brand named "Instinct."
It's all natural with zero grains in it, which I love,
and so does Jake. He chows down like a champ now!
I'm winding down on 2 weeks of medical leave.
This is it. I've cut my hours WAY back, to 3 days per week,
through the holiday season.
We'll see what happens when January rolls around,
although I don't see myself not following through with my current plan.
I submitted my registration to CCC online the other night,
and I'm going to give them a call tomorrow!
I'm so excited and can't wait to enroll in my classes.
Better get on finding that financial aid!
I know there's something available for military spouses.
I should probably check that out first.
And, haha, I bought my hubby AC2 for Christmas.
That's Assassin's Creed 2 for the non-gamers.
And I have started playing it, too!
Believe it or not it's an awesome game,
and I'm enjoying it a lot.
It's nowhere near as repetitive as the first game!
That's about it folks, arrivederci!

Meet Jake!

Got the camera - YAY!
I'll get an editing program and start uploading eventually.
On a down note...
my toe is still trying to heal,
and I'm wearing a boot from the podiatrist to help.
One night, I wasn't wearing the boot,
and I fell and hurt my toe more,
along with fracturing my wrist.
I have since fallen yet again,
and hit my wrist on one of the fixtures at work,
and neither my toe or wrist are doing any better.
It stinks.
I'll probably get an MRI scheduled for my toe,
and I don't know what to do about my wrist.
I suppose I'll wear the brace for another 4 weeks,
and then if it still doesn't feel right,
I'll make another appointment at the clinic.
The brace that I'm wearing on my wrist,
which I got the day after getting my camera,
makes it nearly impossible for me to hold the camera.
I have a couple of different braces,
both of which allow me to hold the camera,
but they don't stabilize my wrist and thumb like the first one does,
so I'm just going to wear the one the doc gave me.
My manager is driving me nuts at work,
but my supervisor is helping me hang in there.
I have some awesome new coworkers too!
It's great to have some positive energy in the department.
My hubby is still on nights.
A friend came over and made food tonight!
I was amazed, because it was good,
and I didn't really thing I had any food in the house, haha.
While he was here cooking, I cleaned the kitchen!
And we put together my new dining table and chairs!
Yay!!
My hubby is going to be so surprised
that I actually cleaned the kitchen, haha.
It's been a mess for a minute.
That's about it for now folks, adios!

I paid for my new camera this morning!
I am very anxious to receive it.
Hiking is in my future!
I'll start by photographing my home base.
Eeeeek I can't wait!

My hubby's birthday is soon!
I'm getting him a new PSP.
My birthday, however, is next month,
and he's asked me a couple of times what I'd like.
I usually reply, "I'm saving up for that camera!"
It's an $850 camera, so I figured that's it.
But the other night while he was at work,
I realized, yet again, that I'd love a cat.
I thought about Rascal, Sylvester, Max, Bagheera...
and I miss them all. They're in a better place.
But I sure would like a kitty to love here.
I grew up with furry family members,
and so did my hubby!
He's very worried that the litter box
will stink up the whole house, though.
I'm trying to tell him that if we're responsible,
we'll clean the litter box at least once per day,
change out the litter once a week,
and that there are odor absorbing crystals we can buy.
I'm not sure he's buying into it though -
today, I'm going to go around pricing food & litter.,
And toys!
If we do get a kitten, I want it to be moderately spoiled.
It's going to have a post, maybe a little contraption.
I want a loving, curious, playful kitty.
I'm so excited already!
I've emailed an adoption agency here,
and am trying to find others.
I think that if my hubby sees these beautiful cats,
he'll be more inclined to adopting one.
Sigh. We'll find out later I suppose!

The car is all fixed up, hooray!
I broke my glasses yesterday,
so I'm wearing my old contacts now.
The Rx is a little off, but in 2 weeks I have an exam,
so I should be getting new contacts soon.
I'll be taking my glasses in to get fixed soon too.
My hubby's going to be working odd hours again,
for an indefinite period of time. Hopefully not long.
Work is going fairly well, although
there's wayy too much estrogen in my department.
I just want to do my job and get paid,
I don't wanna listen to anyone brag about their accomplishments,
and I certainly don't want to get into a confrontation.
Live and let live, please people!
The house is still all cluttered.
We're trying to figure out a way to work together,
especially since we'll be on different shifts.
I guess it could be worse.
Well, that's about all that's going on in my boring life.
Adieu.

Today has been a day already,
and I'm not even usually out of bed by now!
A few days ago, hubby ran into a curb in the rain :(
The brakes locked up and he skidded into the curb.
Thankfully, he's okay, but the car wasn't driving right,
so we left it on the base he works at until the next day.
After our awesome amigo picked us to our car the next day,
we slowly drove it across the street to the shop there.
Thankfully it was only the rim that got damaged!
We slowly drove it back to the base we live on,
and I made an appointment with the shop here to get it repaired.
So, I was up an at 'em at 6:30 this morning.
I drove to the Shoppette to get some milk & dropped that off,
then I dropped the car off at the shop and walked home.
I get home, wake my hubby, and remind him to find a ride.
We get up and eat breakfast,
slowly getting on with the rest of the morning,
when he asks me to find his blues belt... which I left in the car.
[It's my fault, because I wore it to work the other day,
even though he cleaned out the car last night.]
So I hopped on my bike - flat tire and all - and rode to the store.
I get home, he puts the buckle on the belt... aaaannnd....
it's a skirt belt apparently.
Because it's thin.
And it barely stretches enough to fit around his waist.
*sigh* At least he has a proper uniform belt on.
